The CEO/Manager experiences demands like no other and during our time in this role we often find ourselves in a place where the job feels like it’s “who I am”, and not so much “what I do”. During this webinar, we will explore tools to help you reclaim and maintain the internal balance and focus needed to create a fulfilling narrative to base a new life plan that enhances longevity, life satisfaction and overall quality of life.

During the session, we will:

  • Review pertinent theories on human development over the lifespan.
  • Explore the power of mindset regarding retirement (aka decommissioning) vs “repotting” (aka recommissioning).
  • Learn how to shift our thoughts, reactions and behaviors away from drama/victimhood towards creative intention in our life narrative.
  • Explore theories/models such as Environmental Press, Stages of Change and Self-Care on which to base a compelling, desirable and fulfilling life narrative.

About Mike Easley

Former Cooperative CEO, Author, Coach and LPC-Supervisee at Black Hills Psychology, Spearfish, SD

Mike Easley’s remarkable career journey reflects a lifetime commitment to learning, leading and fostering growth in others. At 63, Easley humorously referred to himself as the “world’s oldest intern,” during his counseling internship. His vibrant path has woven through various states, including Oklahoma, Alaska, Michigan, and Wyoming, during an extensive 40-year tenure in the electric cooperative industry.

His approach to life and career is unique, preferring the concept of ‘repotting’ over retiring. This mindset led him to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University. His decision to embrace this new chapter demonstrates his dedication to personal growth, lifelong learning and his desire to contribute meaningfully to others’ lives.

As an author, Easley has encapsulated his rich experiences and insights in works like “The Antics”, “The No-Øs of Leadership”, and most recently “Becoming A Leader Worth Following”. These publications offer valuable guidance and inspiration to those navigating their personal and professional challenges. His writing is not just instructive but also a reflection of his journey, blending leadership lessons with mental health expertise to provide a holistic approach to personal development.

As a counselor, despite being relatively new to the profession, he brings a wealth of life experience, including lessons from the “school of hard knocks.” His approach is characterized by unconditional positive regard, empathy and genuineness. He is dedicated to assisting clients in exploring, creating, and living their best possible lives, combining his extensive leadership experience with newfound mental health expertise to guide others on their unique journeys.
